FAQ

I finished a resume - how do others see it?

Click 'save and generate share link' and the page gives you a dedicated address like /tools/resume/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Send it to HR: they need no login and nothing installed - opening it shows exactly the page you see. The 16-character random ID in the link is generated on the server: unguessable and unenumerable. You can delete the resume at any time and the link dies on the spot.

Can this resume be visible to only one company? I'm afraid the link will get forwarded around.

Yes. In the share panel tick 'add an access password to this resume' and set 4-20 characters. A password-protected resume opens only after the correct password - and verification runs on the server: until it passes, the page HTML contains not one word of the content - not a script hiding it where view-source could recover it. Two ways to share, use whichever you like: 'share with password' is one direct link that opens on click - the random ID inside it is NOT the password itself; if it reaches the wrong person, hit 'void and regenerate'. 'Send link and password separately' means an ordinary link plus the password through another channel. Without a password, anyone holding the link can still view it.

I forgot the password - can you see my password?

No. The database stores only an irreversible hash (PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256, a random salt per password); nobody can recover the plaintext, so there is also no 'customer service looks it up for you' path. Forgot it? Reset a new one in the share panel: the old password dies immediately, previously sent direct links die too, and devices that already unlocked lose access with them. One plain word of advice - do not reuse this password on any other account: we guarantee we store no plaintext, but we cannot protect you from reusing the same string elsewhere.

Can I use it without logging in?

Yes. Filling in, switching templates, live preview, printing to PDF, exporting plain text and backup JSON all need no login - the content lives only in this browser's local storage. Five things need an account: saving to your account, generating a share link, uploading the ID photo, AI rewriting, and importing a resume - the first two because content needs an owner you can later delete, the last three because they use the server.

Importing a resume: do you keep my PDF / Word file? Is the recognized output ready to use directly?

The file is not kept. It goes to the server only for this one text extraction - PDFs have their text layer read directly by the server parser, Word files go through one text conversion, the extracted text goes to the recognition model which maps it to form fields; neither the file nor the extracted text is retained, and logs record only character counts and durations, never content. The recognized result never jumps into the form by itself either: it waits in the 'recognition complete' preview, listing what was found section by section; only after you check and click 'fill into the form' does anything touch your content (tick 'fill empty fields only' if unsure - paragraphs you already wrote stay untouched). What gets filled is a new copy - every copy you saved stays untouched under 'my resumes' and nothing is overwritten; within your account's copy limit they coexist (your current template and font sizes carry over; the photo, resume title and search-engine indexing preference do not - set those again if needed). Even after filling, nothing is saved yet: only 'save and generate share link' puts this new copy into your account. Two plain truths: scanned (image) PDFs yield no text - the page will tell you to use Word or export a text version instead; and the model can misread lines, attaching the previous line's dates to the next - so give every section a look before finalizing.

Where does my content live? Who can see it? How do I delete it?

The resume body is stored in this site's database and the photo in this site's object storage, both under your account. Apart from you, only people holding the share link can see that resume; this site will not recommend it to others, nor use it to train models or for any other purpose. To delete: in 'my resumes' on this page click 'delete' on that copy - the content is delisted immediately and the photo is deleted with it. To close the account entirely, use the cancellation flow on the 'me' page (personal information is anonymized).

How is this different from 'resume check'? Does that one store content?

The two tools have different rules - do not mix them up: this page saves (it builds a shareable online resume); resume check persists nothing at all - pasted text is scored purely locally, uploaded Word/TXT files have their text extracted on the server and are destroyed immediately, PDFs are extracted right in your browser, and logs record only character counts, never content. Want a check-up before finalizing? Run the check first, then come here to lay it out.

Can company ATS systems parse the exported PDF?

Yes. This page generates the PDF via browser printing, keeping the text layer: text can be selected, copied and extracted by ATS, with A4 margins preset at 12mm. Conversely, a resume made from screenshots or 'images into PDF' has no text layer - ATS parsing comes out empty and keyword screening eliminates it outright; that is why this page offers no image-based resume export. Two cautions among the seven templates: 'two-column' sidebars and the full-width header of 'brand blocks' may come out of a few older ATS systems in scrambled order - the words are all extracted, it is the sequence that shuffles. For big-company mass applications, or when PDF upload is explicitly required, prefer the three single-column layouts: 'classic single page', 'timeline', 'compact one-pager'.

So many templates - which one should I pick?

Pick by the shape of your experience, not by looks. Two or three jobs and you want the chronology to stand out -> 'timeline' (dates in the left rail, one vertical line through). Fresh grad or career switch where education speaks louder -> 'fresh grad / switcher' (it moves education above work history). Lots of content, scared of spilling to page two -> 'compact one-pager' (it compresses line height and paragraph spacing only, never the font size - size stays your dial). Applying to design, marketing or content roles where work samples matter -> 'brand blocks' or 'minimal'. Unsure? 'Classic single page' is the most universal. One honest note: 'minimal' moves dates under each title, so the same content runs a dozen-plus lines longer than classic - when content is long and page count is tight, prefer classic / timeline / compact. Layout and accent color are independent choices: any template can take six preset accents or 'follow the template'; both save with your content, and what HR sees matches your preview.

Only six preset accent colors? Can't I pick my own?

You cannot enter a custom color - deliberately. All six presets (ink blue / graphite / indigo / pine green / wine red / sandalwood brown) were chosen so contrast survives black-and-white printing; opening free color-picking would let you produce a resume with light-gray text on light gray that prints out invisible. Resumes get printed or saved as PDF by default, and browsers strip background colors when printing, so the shared style for preview and share pages already carries the keep-backgrounds switch - the light sidebar and colored headers print as shown. Don't want to choose? 'Follow the template' means overriding nothing - each template's own palette applies.

Can I adjust font sizes? Will HR see the same sizes?

Yes. Above the paper in the live preview there are 'content size' and 'heading size' sliders; dragging scales the whole sheet proportionally - name, entry titles, dates and skill tags all follow, current values sit next to the sliders, one click restores defaults. Sizes save with your content; the share link and print / save-as-PDF all use them; the server accepts only these two numbers and clamps them into range, touching nothing else. One aside: if a larger size no longer fits one page, what should shrink is the content, not the font - a resume squeezed onto page two with two lonely lines is harder to read than one with two fewer sentences.

Will AI rewriting invent experience for me?

Three rules are hardcoded in the prompt: rewrite only what you provided, never add any company / role / number / date / credential you did not write, output only the rewritten text. What it does is rephrase at the expression level: 'participated in production-line upgrades' becomes 'took part in automating two production lines, responsible for cycle-time analysis and tooling design'. But the model can still drift - proofread sentence by sentence before finalizing. When AI is unavailable or times out, your original text stays untouched and the failure is reported - never passed off as success; saving and printing never depend on AI at all.

Can I edit my resume on a phone and apply straight from it?

Yes. The page is single-column with native form controls - typing on a phone is no slower than on a desktop. Need a PDF on a phone? Tap 'print / export PDF' and use the system share sheet's 'save as PDF'; WeChat's built-in browser restricts downloads, and the page banner will suggest switching to the system browser. The laziest way to apply is still sending the share link.
