FAQ
Write it when the amount ends exactly at the yuan unit (both jiao and fen are 0), e.g. 100 becomes 壹佰元整; when there are jiao or fen, do not write it - 100.5 becomes 壹佰元伍角 and 100.05 becomes 壹佰元零伍分. This page follows that common standard, and when parsing backwards it accepts both 整 and 正.
That is the standard form: when there are no jiao but some fen, 零 holds the jiao place - 100.05 is written 壹佰元零伍分 and 100000000.01 is 壹亿元零壹分; otherwise the fen could be misread as jiao. Likewise, consecutive zeros collapse into a single 零 (10001 is 壹万零壹), and zeros at the 万/亿 section boundaries follow the same rule.
The amount is rounded to the nearest fen (round half up) and the page says so under the result (e.g. 2.675 becomes 贰元陆角捌分, 0.005 becomes 零元壹分). All arithmetic runs on integer fen via strings, never through floating point, so errors like 2.675 turning into 2.67 cannot happen. The integer part supports at most 16 digits (up to the trillions); beyond that the page refuses with a clear message instead of returning a wrong answer.
No upload - the conversion runs entirely in your browser; the amount never leaves your machine, refreshing clears everything, and the page makes no network requests. Reverse parsing accepts spaces, full-width/half-width digits and common glyph variants (壹/一, 贰/貳, 圆/元, 整/正, 角/毛). Ambiguous colloquial shorthand such as 一百三 (130 or 103?) is not guessed - the page asks you to write it out in full.
Anti-tampering: 壹月 can be edited into 拾壹月 with one added stroke, and 壹日 into 壹拾壹日. So the bank-instrument rule requires: for months and days 1-9 prefix 零 (零壹月...零玖月, 零壹日...零玖日); 10 is 壹拾, 11-19 are 壹拾壹...壹拾玖, 20 is 贰拾, 21-29 are 贰拾壹...贰拾玖, 30 is 叁拾, 31 is 叁拾壹; the year is written digit by digit (2026 → 贰零贰陆). This page outputs per this standard and can also read a standard capitalized date back into a calendar date.
Date to capitalization accepts 2026-09-24, 2026/9/24, 2026.9.24, 2026年9月24日, 20260924 (full-width digits and symbols are recognized too). The date must be real - February 30 or February 29 in a common year is rejected with a hint. Reverse parsing only accepts the standard forms (零壹月, 壹拾月, 壹拾壹月...); non-standard 壹月 or 拾日 are rejected with the correct form suggested - the tool will not guess for you.
