旧 Excel 转 XLSX 的常见用法与效果边界
为什么要转。.xls 是 Excel 97-2003 的老格式，新版 WPS / Office 与在线表格协作平台对它的支持逐渐变差（打开慢、数据量上限小、部分功能不可用）；转成 .xlsx 后兼容性更好，也方便接着用本站的「Excel 转 PDF」。
转换效果如何。单元格内容、公式、基础格式（字体/填充/边框/列宽）与数据验证都会保留，转成 Excel 2007 及以后通用的 .xlsx 格式。注意：如果工作簿带 VBA 宏，宏不会保留——.xlsx 格式本身不支持宏（那是 .xlsm 的事），这是格式规定、不是转换丢失；重要材料建议转换后先打开核对再使用。
格式与大小限制。只接受 .xls（Excel 97-2003）。.xlsx 本身就是新格式、无需转换。单文件上限 20MB，超过请拆分工作表或清理无效数据。

Every other tool on this site processes locally in your browser and your files never leave the machine; but turning .xls into .xlsx needs a server-side document engine to re-lay the workbook s layout model, and a pure browser cannot do it reliably - so this tool is one of the upload exceptions. The uploaded file serves this one conversion only: not stored, not retained, deleted the moment the conversion finishes, and seen by no one.
Cell contents, formulas, basic formatting and data validation are kept, coming out as the .xlsx common since Excel 2007 with better compatibility. Things unique to the old format (VBA macros, legacy links / OLE objects) may be lost - .xlsx does not support macros at all; for important material, open the result and check it before use.
The .xls is the old Excel 97-2003 format, and newer WPS / Office and online spreadsheet platforms support it ever worse - slow to open, smaller row and column caps, some features gone; after converting to .xlsx compatibility improves, and you can go straight on to the Excel-to-PDF tool here.
The cap is 20MB per file; common workbooks take seconds to a dozen or so, and a large sheet can stretch to about a minute and a half. A workbook with an open password cannot be converted - remove the password first. If a conversion fails, the page says why, and your original file stays untouched.
