为什么要转。.ppt 是 PowerPoint 97-2003 的老格式，新版 WPS / Office 与在线演示平台对它的支持逐渐变差（打开慢、版式漂移、部分功能不可用）；转成 .pptx 后兼容性更好，也方便接着用本站的「PPT 转 PDF」。
转换效果如何。每张幻灯片的版式、文字、图片与表格都会保留，转成 PowerPoint 2007 及以后通用的 .pptx 格式。老格式特有的对象（OLE/ActiveX 控件、部分老动画）可能丢失或降级为静态效果；嵌入的视频与音频按原格式尽力保留，可能丢失。重要材料建议转换后先打开核对再使用。

Every other tool on this site processes locally in your browser and your files never leave the machine; but turning .ppt into .pptx needs a server-side document engine to re-lay the presentation s layout model, and a pure browser cannot do it reliably - so this tool is one of the upload exceptions. The uploaded file serves this one conversion only: not stored, not retained, deleted the moment the conversion finishes, and seen by no one.
Each slide keeps its layout, text, pictures and tables, coming out as the .pptx common since PowerPoint 2007 with better compatibility. Objects unique to the old format (OLE / ActiveX controls, some legacy animations) may be lost or downgraded; embedded video and audio are kept best-effort and can be lost; for important material, open the result and check it before use.
The .ppt is the old PowerPoint 97-2003 format, and newer WPS / Office and online presentation platforms support it ever worse - slow to open, layouts drifting, some features gone; after converting to .pptx compatibility improves, and you can go straight on to the PPT-to-PDF tool here.
Since decks often embed big images and videos, the cap is loosened to 50MB per file; ordinary decks take seconds to a dozen or so, and with many slides or heavy media up to about a minute and a half. A file with an open password cannot be converted - remove the password first. If a conversion fails, the page says why, and your original file stays untouched.
