ODT 转 PDF 的常见用法与效果边界
ODT 是什么。ODT（OpenDocument Text）是开放文档格式的文本类型，由 LibreOffice、OpenOffice 默认保存，也是国际标准 ISO/IEC 26300；WPS 与部分政府 / 事业单位的办公环境也在用。它的问题很实际：微软 Word 默认打不开 .odt，发给别人经常收到一句「文件打不开」。转成 PDF 就不挑软件、也不怕版式跑掉。
最常用的两种场景。一是把 .odt 定稿转成 PDF 后发给对方（简历、合同、报告、申报材料），既保证对方能打开，又防止版式被改动；二是归档留存，PDF 十年后打开还是那个样子，而 .odt 依赖当时的字体与软件版本。
转换效果如何。正文、段落、标题层级、表格、图片、页边距都会保留，中文字体由服务端嵌入，与本地「导出为 PDF」高度一致；个别依赖本机私有字体、复杂绘图对象或特殊域代码的文档可能出现细微版式差异——重要材料请以转换后的打开效果为准。

Yes, it uploads - but only for this one conversion. Rendering a .odt into a faithful-layout PDF and embedding Chinese fonts into the file requires the server-side document layout engine (Office-to-PDF conversions of this family share the same channel); a browser alone can hardly reach the same fidelity. Uploaded files serve only the conversion: deleted the moment conversion finishes, not written to any database, not retained, not used for anything else, never sent to any third party. Every other tool on the site (images, local PDF processing, text, QR codes and so on) still runs entirely in your browser - those files never leave your machine.
ODT is the OpenDocument Text format - the default save format of LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice, an international standard (ISO/IEC 26300); WPS can open it and save from it too. It and Microsoft's .docx are two different formats, so Word will not open it by default - which is exactly the most common reason people convert to PDF: everyone can open a PDF, and its layout is fixed.
Highly consistent, but pixel-for-pixel identity is not guaranteed: text, paragraphs, headings, tables, images and margins all carry over, and Chinese fonts are embedded into the file. Documents leaning on private local fonts, complex drawings or special field codes may show subtle differences. For important material, open and check the result before sending it out.
This page accepts .odt (text documents) only. For spreadsheets (.ods) use ODS-to-Excel; for presentations (.odp) use ODP-to-PPT - a wrong format is rejected server-side with the reason stated, you never get a broken artifact. 20MB per file; above that, split the document or shrink the images inside. An .odt with an open password cannot be converted - remove the password first.
Ordinary documents take seconds to tens of seconds; with many pages or large images it can run to about ninety seconds. When the server is busy you get a 'too many requests' message - wait a moment and retry. Common failures and their messages: unsupported format or direction (400), file over 20MB (413), conversion quota used up (429), corrupt file (502), conversion timeout (504), service temporarily unavailable (503). A failed conversion never modifies your original file - retrying is just clicking Start again.
